So frustrating

Hi

We started our app for a mortgage on 14th May through a broker. Applying with the coventry BS. Supplied 3 months payslips each and my P60 that had just arrived. My wife provided her most recent P60 as well as this years hadn't arrived at that point. She is currently on maternity leave and going back to work in October.
Mortgage broker had checked requirements on the phone before application and everything seemed present and correct.

Can't remember exact timings, but about a week later we were asked for a reference from my wife's employer confirming her return to work date and returning salary.

After 3 weeks of pulling hair out, running round in circles, banging heads against walls we finally got what we needed from her HR dept and they sent it straight off to the coventry inbox for documents.

I phoned the coventry the next day to check it had been received and they said it had. Great I thought..... Then they said it goes to the back of the que......2 weeks long......arrgggggg:mad::mad::eek::eek:

So mortgage advisor phones them and fair play they have looked at the letter and said yep, that's fine. Oh hang on...they have addressed the letter ( via email ) to " whom it may concern" instead of the coventry BS. Apparently because it isn't addressed to them directly they can't accept it. Even though it has gone through their email address.

We have just found this out and now can't get in touch with HR until Monday.

Losing the will!!!:(

Its not worth worrying about. Think about this logically... had it had to coventry it would have been accepted.

So you know it will get accepted, its just a waiting game. So you get the letter and wait and then you get your mortgage. Dont stress, just go with the flow and you will be fine.

Never thought it would take a month to get to this stage and still have no answer.

    Just find it so frustrating.

I had to get a letter to nationwide confirming My bonus and dividend payments. They rejected it because it was addressed to them and not me! Absolute stupidity but we got our mortgage offer in the end.

    Good luck

No one in this world likes a letter that is not addressed to them!
