A lot of summer 2014 is in the sale but some stock will be kept as transition stock as the weather is still nice. This will go into the mid season sale. Markdown on the shop floors started last night so go into store this week and look on the POS tickets, if it has red pen on it, the number is the price in the sale.

And one is £99 "Colour Palette"

Just an update about the amount of stock going into the sale. Yesterday i stumbled on a private and confidential printout (for managers eyes only). Within the 30 closest stores to mine, an average of 68% of all stock in stores is sale. This number is usually closer to 40%.

In my store we have 26000 units in the sale (48000 units in the whole store) and we are an average sized store.

I have never been to the start of a Next sale before. I normally browse a few days after at whatever is left in my size - but I'm shopping with a holiday purpose for the first time, close to the sale. I'm kicking myself, as I've got quite a few of my daughters clothes already from Next & a couple of t-shirts for my son for our holiday & I'll be kicking myself if I see them reduced (I've bought them over 28 days ago too). I really need to become more savvy with only working part-time now too!!

The best time to check the labels on the shop floor will be friday, as all shop floor markdown will be complete by then. However there is will be about 3 times as much stock upstairs including lines not on the shopfloor.

Buying stuff at full price and returning them to rebuy at sale price is a lot harder now as the till system sends a lot of the stock back to the warehouse for the online sale when you do this. Staff have no way of over-riding this. If staff resell something that should have been returned to the warehouse, this is logged and can result in disciplinary action.

Not everyone has transport to get to the sale on Saturday and have to catch the bus by which time most of the good stuff is gone like you said.


Also, as my store is only a small one they obviously don't stock everything so I have a better chance of finding it online. If I know it isn't going to be in the sale anyway it saves a lot of bother.

Hi All, I've never really been fussed with the next sale before but there is a desk I'd love to be in the sale. This will prob seem a dumb question to all the sale regulars, but how do you know if you've been allocated a VIP slot on your account?
