I was very excited about this offer from Aldi and was outside their Hounslow store this morning queuing before 8am. There were quite a few other shoppers wanting the same offer, so imagine our disappointment when the store opened its door, we all trooped in and there were no Wagyu steaks at all! When we put our query to the staff, they all said 'Don't know.' What a lousy way to run a special offer.

I normally shop at aldi on a thurs morning about 8am anyway - got there about that time & by the time I had parked, got trolley and shopped down the first aisle to the meat section, they had sold out. That was about 8.15am. The staff were very apologetic, said they had only received one box of each type of steak...Mortgage free as of 11/11/15 !
:Anow... to start some serious saving :A

you'd be better of with a rib-eye than a sirloin anyway.....We’ve had to remove your signature. Please check the Forum Rules if you’re unsure why it’s been removed and, if still unsure, email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

What animal is a Wagyu?
Ah ... found ita breed of cow due to its higher fat content making the meat more marbled and tasty.0 -
I went to a big Aldi in Coventry today, ten minutes after they opened.
There were only two rib-eye Wagyu steaks left in a pack of around ten, plus two empty boxes that used to contain around ten sirloins and rumps.
So they were there, but had gone.
On to another Aldi in a poorer part of Coventry, where there were just two sirloins left at 8.30 am. And again just remnants left of rib-eye and rump of the only three boxes that were on sale.
However, what I found in both shops, was that there was a much larger display of other steaks than usual, and I assume the marketing ploy is advertise Wagyu, and have maybe just 30 steaks per store. When the disappointed punters come in any time after opening, you flog them some other steak with a better profit margin.
It certainly worked for me, as I bought two nice looking, 21 day aged sirloins for about £4.50 each.
Eat the Wagyu sirloins last night. Not very marbled, lots of gristle, very chewy. Our big German Shepherd dog had a great supper!
Don't waste your money!0 -

Yes that's exactly what they are doing.0 -
We went to our local Aldi at around 10 am and bought 2 steaks. Would have bought more but they were limited to 2 per customer and they treated a couple as one customer. They said they were expecting more today.
The checkout person said the staff were not allowed to buy them.
We went to another Aldi later and they were sold out (no surprises)
I was disappointed to read someone said they were rubbish. If you complain to Aldi they will probably refund your money, they are good like that.0 -
You have not missed much. Friend of mine queued up for nearly and hour before opening in the hope of getting some. She was one of the lucky ones to get some but was left feeling very disapointed when it came to tea time and they turned out to be tasteless, full of gristle and tough as old boots.
I'd just stick to sirloin or rump and avoid any supermarket meat - may be cheap but always disapointing.0 -
Maybe how she cooked it? There are instructions on how to cook it on the aldi website.
My local store had sold out by 10am yesterday but had a big delivery overnight...couples can buy 2 each if you use a different card for each purchase of,two...the tills recognise if the same card is used to buy more than 2 presumably you can use cash and pop in and out to get as many as you want while stocks last!!0 -
I was also told they would be getting fresh stock each night and restocking daily while the offer is on0
