  • Sigh, I suppose laughing is better than crying. Did my fair share of the latter already this morning...

When I was little I remember we had a competition at school to win a book from the book club. I remember praying so hard to God, and promised that if I won I would share it with my sisters so It would really be like three people winning instead of one. And guess what? I won... and I won the next year too, much to the disgust of some parents who said I shouldn't have been allowed to enter two years in a row (imagine being 7 years old and hearing grown adults speaking about you like that!).

Anyway, I grew up to be an atheist, so I don't actually believe that 'God' allowed me to win that book, but since that event I have always believed that what you give out you get back in return... karma!

I always think of that song from Bugsy Malone - "You give a little love and it all comes back to you!"

Anyway, I have always been quite lucky all my life and whenever I have had financial troubles a solution has fallen out of the sky - a radio win on the day I came back to Birmingham after finishing Uni (only £78 but it was a lot to me then), a university fee rebate when I thought I was going to have to leave university because I couldn't afford to stay anymore etc. And I credit this to the universe balancing up the good that I have done/do.

So, not a reason why I deserve to win as I don't think anyone deserves to win more than anyone else, but if anyone wants a suggestion as to how they can maximise their winnings - be positive, nice and generous and the love will come back to you doubled up.
