Receiving a refund on discounted items??
Lewis.

As above, I have a real head scratcher on my hands here, and cannot figure it out.
In a nut shell, I have bought some products and received a 20% discount on them at the time. However, I wish to return 2 of the items for a refund. When I have logged it online during the return process, it has calculated only a partial refund for one of the items. What I can't get my head around is that will I still be reciving the discount for items I already have - sums are below. It's probably me being dense, but from what I can see it appears I am paying them back the discount too.
Original order value = £125
Less 20% discount = £100 (this is what I paid for the order)
Value of return items are £30 and £35 respectability
However, they are only refunding me £40 instead of £65?
Now I understand I only paid £100 for the order in the first place, but the fact I am giving them £25 back (receiving £25 less than it should be on the refund) means that I am in essence not getting the rest of the items I am keeping at the 20% discounted rate. Does that make sense??
So in actual fact, removing the return items mean my total order value should be £60.
£60 less 20% = £48, therefore £12 discount. So what I can't figure out is am I still getting the £12 dicount on the items I am retaining?
If someone can explain it that would be good. Sorry for being a dumbass too! :rotfl:
What would be handy is an online tool to calculate such things but I couldn't find one anywhere.

My calculation shows they have taken off the full 20% discount you were given originally.
Original cost after discount £100
Credit now £ 40
so remaining kept items are costing £60
which is the gross cost before any discount was taken off
i.e.£125-£65 = £60.
Did your original discount have a purchase limit? If not, I suggest you go back to them and point out that they have not given you the £12 discount on the other items you have kept.0 -

Thanks. No purchase limit no.
That's what I was thinking? So the item they are only refunding me £10 on (original cost £35) should actually be £22 to incorporate the £12 discount on the other items.
I have been caught out with this before when they do refunds they don't take into account the discount on the remaining items you choose to keep.0 -
Is anyone else able to confirm the info above - cheers!0

Perhaps the 20% discount was only applicable when the order value was £125? Now you are returning some items the discount is no longer applicable.Just a thought.0
