Poundstretcher. Maxi brand chopped tomatoes. 400g (260g drained) tin. 20p.

ASDA were doing the same ones recently for 4 for £1.
If you fold it in half, will an Audi A4 fit in a Citroen C5? :)

I bought a load of these when Asda reduced them to 10p, they are pretty good for pasta sauces etc :)

And I've just made some pasta sauce with one of my tins.

However, I noticed that the 'Best Before End' date on all of mine is September 2014. OK, that's still 2½ months away. And you'll probably use them by then. And they're tins. And we all know that these dates are worked out by lawyers not cooks. But I just thought that you ought to know.

I stocked up in Asda last week when i saw they'd been reduced again.
Still you can never have to many, there used in allsorts. So i'll call into Poundstretcher for some more.

Just been in the Asda in Malton, Yorkshire and they were doing these tins of chopped tomatoes for 10p each, on a display at the front of the store
  • I've stocked up on these from Asda. 10p is great value. I use them in pasta sauces & for homemade baked beans.

Yes. Not in the tins, obviously. When I lived on my own, I regularly only needed half a tin and froze other half for later.

Update. These were, much to my surprise and delight, still available at the Kingswood, Bristol store earlier this morning. The BBE date is still September this year.
