This is a sign that I seen in a hospital car park today -

So there we have it, APCOA charge penalties. These are new signs within the last year, as I was there last year and the hourly parking fees have changed.

I am constantly amazed at the incompetence of a company the size of APCOA.

How the hell is anyone supposed to read those T&C's? Presumably the amount of the "penalty" notices is in there somewhere, but if it's not in your face then it's not going to bind anyone into a contract.

And is that a bit of tape and a felt pen I see deployed on the 'phone number?

Incompetence? I'm sure it was a mere oversight <cough>.

And there is no sum specified. But we really should be charitable to these companies. After all they only want our money. Its not as though they are after, or indeed interested, in anything else, is it? Not even car parking, really. Just the money. If they were interested in the car parking the sign might be a little clearer and readable.
My very sincere apologies for those hoping to request off-board assistance but I am now so inundated with requests that in order to do justice to those "already in the system" I am no longer accepting PM's and am unlikely to do so for the foreseeable future (August 2016). :(

These are obscene amounts of money to have to pay to visit a hospital, people should complain to the Hospital trust and the local paper.
You never know how far you can go until you go too far.
  • At my local hospital disabled badge holders parked in disabled bays are no exempt from charges...grrr APCOA.

That seems fair to me as many who are visiting hospitals are disabled in some way or other.

My point is that NOBODY visiting a hospital, whether it is a routine appointment, to visit A&E when they cannot get an appointment to see their GP, or they are visiting a sick relative should be forced to pay these charges. The land is, after all, usually owned by us all, and is not a cash cow. T engage knuckle dragging ex clampers to try to inforce dodgy contract makes it even worse.

It's not my local hospital, but a specialist hospital in London.

What would be the best BPA email address to complain to?

It might be written just below the BPA logo on the sign.

Oh, wait, there's no logo. Ah well, more non compliant signage. :rotfl:

    Steve Clark - steve.c@britishparking.co.uk.

Send him a copy of the photo. Utterly non-compliant and yet APCOA are, supposedly, one of the leading lights in the PPC World.
