Two Months Before Paid?

My nephew started an apprenticeship on 27th May and is monthly paid. However, he has been told that he will not receive his first pay until the 26th July? Is this normal?

I wouldn't have thought so -I started my new job the same day as your nephew and if I have to wait until the July payday I will be royally stuffed!
In all seriousness I would expect him to be paid on the June payday.
Was he told this by HR or was it office gossip2014 Target;

what date is payday?
if for example it's the 15th it isn't as bad as it could be...
Still a royal pain in the bottom - can he speak with the payroll dept if ti;s a big company? They may be able to manually process things a bit quicker. When I was told I wouldn't get paid until the end of November (started at the beginning of September) I called and asked why this was and they said they'd get it sorted by the end of the week and this was part way through October (they didn't but that's a different story)....
