Opening The Gates To Financial Freedom

Options
Please forgive me but I have been here many times before!! However this time is different. I have more month left than money and am really feeling the stress of having zero financial security. Things really do need to change in order to stop the constant money worries and to get me back on track financially.

So this is my diary to jot down my daily ramblings to hopefully keep me on track. Feel free to join me for a natter (something I'm very good at) and a virtual cuppa :)

So first things first. A quick overview of how it stands.

Debt
CC £419.34
Loan £6000ish will need to look at exact figures
No savings and far to much money going out and not enough coming in

My Plan
The plan is to hit the credit card first. I can realistically pay off approx £60 a month but can hopefully up this amount by making sacrifices elsewhere. This means that it will be cleared by Xmas 2014 leaving 2015 to clear the loan. I have tried paying off larger amounts before only to leave myself short at the end of the month and putting things back on the card so let's see if smaller amounts works better.

If you're still reading congratulations :j. I'll be back later for a daily round up.

Evening all. I'm back as promised.

So tonight I've been thinking about the small ways to save some money. I'm naturally quite a frugal person anyway and not much of a big spender. I've never been into following fashion, going out to clubs and bars or having the latest gadgets and gizmos but I guess a lot of my money gets wasted on frequent day trips out which usually involve a meal out. This is definitely one area I can improve on. Other areas i need to look at are the grocery spends (£220pm for 2 people at the moment) and electric and gas usage.

I've been a frequent lurker of these forums for a while and the one thing I've noticed is that being organised is the key. Therefore I've come up with a little plan for tomorrow.

Get up early and make lunch to take to work. Breakfast and tea also from stores.
Walk to work, no petrol usage and free exercise.
Make an inventory of the fridge and see if I can make up enough meals so that I only do a top up shop this week and not a full blown spending spree.

    That will do for now.

    Have a great evening. DC1 :)

    Morning :j

So I got up early as planned. All animals fed and eating my breakfast as we speak. I've got to make sure that I'm ready to go out the door in plenty of time to walk to work but in this glorious sunshine I really don't mind :)

I've also checked and tidied up the bak account so my first 'extra' of £6.93 paid off e bank account which is a good start :j

I'm off to create a signature now so I can keep track of my progress.

    Have a lovely day
