Ending payment - will CSA do it automatically...?

I'm currently paying for my 16yr old son through CSA1.
I have been told (by a usually reliable third party - I have no contact with my son or his mother) that my son IS leaving (or, has left?) school and IS enlisting into the Army as a junior soldier. I am told that he has completed, and been successful in, all of his selection tests and is only awaiting a date to enlist.
My question is, will CSA stop payment on his enlistment - I assume that living away from home, in barracks, and on his own income of around £14k means I no longer need to pay - or would I need to inform them of what I've been told (I certainly can't rely on his mother telling them if she no longer has entitlement).
Of course, part of the problem is that I don't know for absolutely certain that the information I have received is accurate.

It's not going to stop until at least September though.
Like you say, the information you heard maybe just hearsay and you are just hearing what you want to hear?

In our experience of CSA1 no it won't! I would contact the CSA and explain you think there has been a change of circumstances and that you believe that Child Benefit is no longer being paid as the child in question is now working in his own right. They will check if CB is being paid, if it is not they will act upon it....then pass it on to the accounts dept (this takes a few weeks)...then eventually the payments may change if there are other children on the system and if you have overpaid subsequent payments will be changed to reflect this - dating from the date you informed them of the change. Not sure what happens if there are no other qualifying children and you have overpaid though....

    Thanks for the replies.
The info originates from my daughter and my sister so it's pretty accurate, the only thing I don't know for sure is his enlistment date - he hasn't yet actually signed-up, but definitely has a place at the initial training depot in N. Yorks.
He is the only child who I pay for now, knowing the track record of CSA it's a one-way street - quick to relieve you of money, nightmare to get any overpayment back.
