pay/uniform advice please

I was wondering if you could help me with a query please?
I work in a care home, both on the floor and as a shift leader, my rate is £1 higher when a shift leader.
when my employer pays my holiday pay he pays it at a rate 30p lower than my lower pay rate, is this allowed as over 5 weeks holiday this works out quite a lot missed wages.
also we are required to wear the uniform which is supplied, we pay for this, the wage slip is given to us with normal deductions made and then pencilled in at the bottom after net wage wage figure the deduction for uniform and the final pay recieved. Shouldn't this be tax dectable and thus show on the wage slip officially.

any help would be appreciated, just feel im being messed around a bit

thanks
