Hello,
Good luck on your debt busting and slimming. Do you do any sports at all. Sometimes it can really help and it is good for your heart too. Walking is free - so very MSE.Mortgage March 2013: [STRIKE]£55,956 [/STRIKE]£38,500 (aim to pay off by 2020)

Happy Hump Day!
I have used Music Magpie in the past.
I'm quite a big eBayer but I have found that most DVD's and such don't sell on eBay so it is a waste of time and effort. I sold all my DVD's and old CD's to Music Magpie and made about £20 - £30 in all. Clearly nowhere near what I originally spent on the products but I don't miss them (or the clutter they added to!) and the money I made was useful at the time. Plus it's really easy to use, I would recommend if you don't have the time or patience to find a more lucrative alternative!Debt Free I FFEF I Building Savings I 2025 Plan:- Regular Savings £7,400/£10,000

Hi Katie,
Really enjoy reading your thread so far. Good luck on your weightloss and debtfree journey. I will definitely be reading your diary with interest. I am more of a lurker (creepy sounding) than a poster but will continue to read your progress. I am also a fellow dieter and debtbuster x0 -

Thank you t2rry, I think perhaps the way forward then is to make a pile of the dvds that I am willing to get rid of and perhaps have a look on ebay and see whether there are any already listed and whether anyone is bidding on them. If not musicmagpie. That is not too bad then, I had visions of them giving you about 2p for each dvd! I guess it depends on age and popularity etc.
Hiya If at first, yes you are right, I do need to start walking more, I do try to walk to work when I can, the difference between me walking in and driving in is marginal, only saves me about 15 minutes because of getting stuck in traffic. Takes about half an hour to walk in. I usually end up running late in the morning about half the week though, due to my dislike of getting up! I meet a friend at lunch and we have a 20 minute walk but when you are sat down on you’re a$$ for the rest of the day the effects of that are slim to none! Hehe. I have no excuse though really! I used to run quite a bit a few years ago, no reason why I cant start up again, although I think walking would probably be better to start with, wouldn’t want to overdo it on my poor ol knees. And of course the smaller distances are the worst for the car and bad for fuel, I will definitely be adding MAKING MYSELF walk to work to the debt busting list…after today of course…yes I drove in today………K. But to be fair I do have an optician’s appointment straight after work and I wouldn’t make it on time walking hehe. I do have quite a collection of fitness dvds so I shall dig some of those out too.
Hi focus888! Thank you! Good luck with your journey too. I know what you mean, I was a lurker for a good while, I did think twice about starting a DFW diary and actually wrote out my initial post once and deleted it. I am hoping though that the ‘checking in’ and ‘being held accountable’ parts will help me, as I am the queen of ‘starting off with the best of intentions and then losing motivation’ and ‘I will start spending less/saving more/dieting tomorrow’ hehehehe.
Thanks Shelbi!!. Welcome!!

I too love my holidays! It is where all my money goes :rotfl:
I moved my contact lenses to monthly which, believe it or not, I prefer - as they are thicker and do not slide about my eyes as much. perhaps I just have slimey eyes. But it took my cost from £22 to £10 a month.
I also binned my mobile contract and went to giffgaff. Best. Thing. Ever. Okay, so you need to get your head round the whole goodybag situation and no calls centres etc, but I LOVE that my phone only costs me £10 a month. It makes me happy.
Knowing that I am sim only also makes me take better care of my mobile too - but perhaps that is just me!
