Codes aren't permitted on the Grabbit board and the thread has been moved to the correct board. If in doubt please read the forum rule. If you have any questions about this policy please email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com.

have to admit i agree with the OP.

Rules are brilliant to prevent issues but they can cause just as many issues when discretion isnt shown.

It really would be silly to have to create a thread in the codes/voucher section, then post the suspected bargain in this thread, then link the two together... by which some some poor sods likely paid more than he needed to and everyone that did spot the code has had to put in twice as much effort as would have been required.

As it seems to be a code open to all i cant see the issue with it being on the grabbit board.

I'm sure someone will have an explanation as to why it is an issue though.

EDIT: amusingly... intentionally posting in the incorrect forum actually resolves this issue. it ends up in both with minimal effort....for posters anyway

it's a privately owned forum and when you join you agree to abide by their rules, which are obviously there for a valid reason even if it's not obvious to us why.

Codes have never been allowed on any other board than the Discount Codes board and the rule clearly explains why. Whether you agree with the rules or not is immaterial.

I joined 4 years ago and clearly none of that has ever crossed my mind...

My point wasn't disagreeing with them it was to highlight the issues the code rule has clearly created in this scenario. It was also intended to gain an intelligent response as to why the rule exists. I wasn't expecting the response to be 'because it's a rule' (paraphrasing considerably).

As noted above by posting in the wrong thread this issue is actually resolved by the 'paper' trail it leaves behind. Possibly intentional, possibly not, either way issue resolved.
