Could someone please shed some light on my issue I was house sitting for my aunt a few years ago when someone from British gas called at the property and apparently changed the account over from my aunts name to mine we disputed the transfer of ownership and won the case through ofgem at the time of 2007. however i have today received a letter from BCW i have raised a complaint with British Gas again and will be taking it to my aunts tonight. I never signed any paperwork to have this account name changed. So what are my options really now?

Hi Neil
Was the bill not settled at the time? I am assuming that the dispute in 2007 was purely to do with the name it was in, rather than the legitimacy of the bill itself?
For now, as you have raised a complaint with BG, I would simply suggest that you copy in BCW on this complaint and request that they suspend any recovery action until BG have responded to you.
Regards
Dennis

Thanks Denis for your reply the dispute was purely to do with the fact that it was not my bill nor my address they were charging me for. (someone in back office had simply removed the name on the bill and replaced it with mine) I have spoken to British gas tonight who has told me that the amount has been written off. However BCW are asking me for proof that it is not my address however as the account was closed over 7 years ago I don't have my tenancy agreement from that address.[strike]Debt 1 £50.70[/strike]Paid:D
