If it is nesting, I do not think it is legal to disturb the nest, so you will have to put up with it. Note many birds breed two or three times throughout the spring/summer, so the nesting season is not over yet.
If it is not nesting, then if it got in, it will get out again, unless it got in by the hatch, in which case leave the hatch open.0 -

Depends on the species. If it's a jackdaw or pigeon you can do what you like.
Totally irrelevant, but anyway - did anyone hear a cuckoo this year?“What means that trump?” Timon of Athens by William Shakespeare0 -

Apparently, based on the links in my last post:A general licence, issued by the government, allows ‘authorised persons’ to kill or take roof-nesting feral pigeons in Britain, and house sparrows, starlings and feral pigeons in Northern Ireland, and destroy their nests, but only if it can be shown that action was necessary for the purpose of preserving public health.butterfly )i(0 -
find the point off entry .
When I had a house in Belfast the pigeons in the back yard seemed fond off rat poison .It wasn't my fault they couldn't read the instructions .;)"Do not regret growing older, it's a privilege denied to many"0 -
As above. Find the point of entry. You might be able to see light entering into the darkness of he loft, from your hatch.
Birds do not need much of a hole to get in, so don't be surprised and block up anything you see.
I had birds nesting in a gap between some ill fitted lead flashing and the roof of an extension. The only time I noticed it was when I heard the chicks at feeding time.
I assume you have a water tank in your loft? Is it covered ?0 -
Dont use these, they never had any luck.........0
