Childcare help on an Apprenticeship?

Hi, I do hope I am in the right place to ask! Here goes..
After being a full time mum for 3 years I'm finding it very difficult to get back into work, however I have just been offered an apprenticeship with the local council. It's something I'm very keen to do but the cost of childcare is a real worry. My husband works 8am-4pm and earns 15k a year so we do claim child tax, and working tax credits already, but I am just wondering if anyone knows if there is any help towards childcare I can get, as my apprentice wage won't cover half of it and mine and hubbys hours would be the same! I've done a lot of googling and so far have only found help for under 19s or those in sixth form.
Thanks in advance.

You can get some help through child tax credits. The rest is self funded.0
