Hello there!
Silly question here- On some of my payments, by way of VISA debit or Credit card, they go thru as 'IC*MERCHANTNAME'.
I've asked my society on the off-chance they know, but the only thing they could think of - is it could be something like PayPal, which goes thru as 'PayPal*MerchantName'.
Anyone know? Thanks for your help.

Couldn't be 100% certain but imagine it relates to the use of a chip (Integrated Circuit) card, see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/EMV0

When referring to the transaction methods its generally ICC for chip cards, S when a magnetic stripe card is swiped and CT or C for contactless transactions. It would also be bizarre to show the entry method on the statement.
Can you give us an example of a merchant that you've seen this on?0 -

I'm guessing they put their payments through a payment processor; much like PayPal would show "PAYPAL*Fred Bloggs" on a statement.43580
