PCN at Colindale retail park

Options
I stopped in a yellow hatched area (loading bay) on a Sunday morning in a NW9 retail park for a few minutes, while I popped into a shop to return something. The ticket was issued with no grace period - seen at the same time as it was issued according to the detail on the notice from UKPC. I have no intention of paying £100 for a 5 minute stop.

My question is, while I wait for a NTK, should I complain to the store manager, or do that after the NTK arrives? I have tried to find the answer to this question here, but I have to say, I've become totally bogged down in the enormous amount of posts and have been going round in circles for sometime. So apologies if the answer is on here somewhere - I just can't find it, and any advice would be welcome, from a first time poster.

Make complaints to the shop manager themselves, if you get no joy complain to their head office.
When posting a parking issue on MSE do not reveal any information that may enable PPCs to identify you. They DO monitor the forum.
We don't need the following to help you.
Name, Address, PCN Number, Exact Date Of Incident, Date On Invoice, Reg Number, Vehicle Picture, The Time You Entered & Left Car Park, Or The Amount of Time You Overstayed.

The choice is yours really, the important thing is that you don't identify yourself as the driver.

Yes, complain to the store manager. I once witnessed a very irate customer storm into Go Outdoors at that very site, brandishing a UKPC ticket, and while I was explaining to him that UKPC are utterly feeble and nothing to worry about the store manager arrived and promised to get the thing cancelled.

  • Thanks for the replies, but I still don't have an answer to the question, 'do I complain to the store now - or wait until I get a NTK ?'
    Any thoughts?

Personally I would wait. Less chance that you will identify yourself as the driver. Also, we tend to say that you shouldn't believe a ticket is cancelled until you have something in writing, so why give the parking company your address when the DVLA will charge them for the privilege.

If the store manager does agree to cancel it you should still begin the appeals process unless you receive actual confirmation, ideally from the parking company, that the ticket has been cancelled.
  • Update: After writing to UKPC using the template provided here, I got a reply this morning and to my utter amazement they have cancelled the charge and apologised. I had gone to the store and spoken to the manager also, who promised to ask for the charge to be dropped, so that may have helped also. A big thank you to all those on this forum who put in the time to help others fight this Bullsh*t.
    Best to all, Graham

They recognise the templates these days and know they are on a hiding to nothing.
