Walking boots which are not waterproof

Going to kenya, I understand the boots needed are to be none waterproof and need to be breathable. Has any one got a brand suggestion. Won't be trekking just walking and working in bush and walking around local towns villages. Thanks

Never thought that id be a recommending Sports Direct but all the walking boots that i have bought there have let in water to my feet.. If for some unusual reason they don't , couldnt you make a few small screwdriver holes in them! lol"if the state cannot find within itself a place for those who peacefully refuse to worship at its temples, then it’s the state that’s become extreme".Revd Dr Giles Fraser on Radio 4 20170

I think you mean Merrell? (Unless I've missed a brand called Meryl?)
I am not sure why non-waterproof boots are needed (I've never walked in Africa). Most waterproof boots sold in the UK are Gore-tex (or similar) lined so that they are both waterproof & breathable.
I think they need to be ankle height - check specifications.
I am a huge fan of Merrell. The boots are not cheap, but they are very comfortable for long walks & for wearing all day.
If you can afford it I would shell out for a good pair, look after them and use them after the holiday.
Don't forget good socks that will absorb sweat & cushion your feet- Bridgedale are excellent, but there are other makes, some of which may be better for hot weather.0 -
Do you really mean non waterproof? then the Karrimor boots in Sports Direct will be okay for you - very reasonable and plenty of styles to choose from.SallyD0

I've paid a lot of money for my walking boots and they have all been non waterproof even when they say they are.
A cheap pair from Go Outdoors should do you if you really want non waterproof and breathable.0 -
Try on Ebay for army surplus Menidl desert fox or Lowa elite desert boots both should be ideal for you.0

I used to buy the Karrimor boots, But the last time i tried some they had gone downhill on the quality. Far less padding than they used to have.
Regatta boots from Go-Outdoors are super comfy. Normally a new boot rubs a little bit as you get used to the new style. Not these. I do the laces loosely for the 1st couple of times that i wear them and all good after that.
Usually around £40 when on sale which they usually are.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0
