Selling Cd's - Music Magpie or eBay

I have a collection of 400 or so cd's. Mostly albums with a few doubles / ltd editions in there.
99% of them are ones I bought from the supermarkets doing my weekly shop so pretty much all standard chart stuff etc, noting that rare.
I downloaded the music magpie app which is pretty easy/quick to use but having scanned the first 20 cd's it's only offered me 25p for each of them so far (except 1 at 30p!)
Also MM have a minimium purchase price of £5 or 10cds. so if I send in 10 cd's for £2.50 I expect I will actually loose money on the P&P.
If they all come out at about 25p then I could send them my whole collection for about £100 which is pretty gutting considering all the prices on them are anything from £9.99 - £14.99 each! (ie cost me at least £4k to collect them).
The other option is ebay although even using the 'turbo-lister' option it's taken me about 30 mins to list 5 cds. I was listing the 9.99 ones for £2 and the 14.99 ones for £3. ebay only gives 20 free listings though so, aside from the time taken to list them all I am either going to be left with not much on a £2 sale or it's going to take me months/years to get rid of them all.
I thought about listing them as 'lots' on ebay, say 30 cd's starting an auction at £15.
Thought maybe I could sort them by artist (although I may only have 3-4 cd's of any one artist) or maybe sort them by years ie. 30cd's from 1996 unless anyone has any better ideas on that? I really don't want to spend hours typing in all the names and taking photos though!
Half tempted to stick them all up as a one lot auction starting at £99 as thats about all I would get from MM anyway. Just put the 12 free photos ebay give you and then any bidders will have to take a chance on what they get?
Also though about a car boot sale pricing them at £1 - £1.50 but after talking to a seller at my local one last weekend he only sold 4 all day.
Where is everyone else shifting them too?

I went with Musicmagpie about 18 months ago - the prices weren't the greatest, but a courier collected them for free. Gone in one go, and got the money quite quickly, I see to recall. Otherwise I was just going to take them to a charity shop - I don't do Ebay."Save £12k in 2019" #120 - £100,699.57/£100,0000

Music Magpie are evidently following the traits of the bird - raiding others' nests.....
See the other threads on MM around here - they're not showing them in a good light0 -
Ex chart CDs go for around 20p at my local car boot, so music magpie can actually look generous.i don't think people buy second hand CDs anymore. My dad used to but wouldn't be looking at chart stuff, my sons don't anymore as they just download what they want - and have now shown me how to do that so when I want something I just go to Amazon and get it instantly.
eBay and PayPal fees can make selling low cost items on there expensive, before you list anymore make sure you understand the costs.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Why would you be expecting to get anywhere near what you paid for them full price? Everyone knows that if you buy at the full market price, you expect to take a loss. I bet they're well out of date by now- in terms of being albums released a few years ago, most likely. Like the above says, also most people download music now.
If you want to make money, you'd better try and hang on to any that you think might be worth something in the future. But from your own description that sounds unlikely. Take what you can get for them, if you wait a few weeks- Music Magpie and the like may not be taking them at all! You'll always do better selling them yourself INDIVIDUALLY on eBay or Amazon Marketplace, but only if there is a market for them in the first place. But, it doesn't sound like you want to take the time required to do so. No-one will buy 100 of your CDs in one job lot for £99- people want to choose the titles. That's the lazy way of trying to sell on eBay and won't guarantee you best price.
So, ship them off in one go and get a guaranteed amount for them- job done.Minimalist

The likes of Spotify is killing off any value in CD's these days. I music Magpie'd my whole CD collection as I know that all the time I have a service like Spotify, I won't be bothered to play CD's! DVD's are heading the same way, people prefer to pay for Netflix etc.
Get rid of em all before they lose any more value!0 -

I think you make a valid point about DVDs as well. My sons all have various subscription plans with companies to watch movies and TV programs and rarely buy DVDs. Two of them have already started to shift some of the popular stuff, whilst it still has a value- I'm sitting here now looking at a large bin bag of DVD box sets that I apparently am supposed to sell for them!I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
