    i know how you feel , we were turned down to remort our house for £83k on a house worth 200k and a gross wage of 40k.
    we were told the max we could borrow from hsbc was £37k! what the hell can you buy for £37k??

    That's just a polite way of saying we don't want your business. There's no automatic right to a mortgage. Lendrs have their own target markets for new business at any given time.
  • I have already posted about Natwest who are not playing fair after giving me an offset mortgage facility. They are now intending to re-credit score me because I want to draw out some funds I had temporarily overpaid (intentionally - it seemed like a safe place to keep the funds at the time). Read the small print re your account changes they told me! They send literally hundreds of leaflets a year.
    On top of that, they can't even start the process until Monday and I've been ringing them persistently without getting through since Thursday. Not happy. Beware - an offset mortgage is not what it says on the tin!
