Back at the end of Feb I had a WEM from Marie Claire telling me that I had won flowers and chocolates once a month for a year, wow I thought a monthly treat. I am having problems with the prize however In March I received my first Flowers only (no chocolates), felt a bit awkward about moaning that I did not received any chocolates so left it, mid April I received flowers and chocolate, and nothing since I have chased them three times with the Florist (wildabout), and on each occasion have been told that they would be sent out the next day, the last email on Monday I copied in Marie Claire on the two email addresses in my WEM to contact them on if there were problems, one bounced back and have not received a reply from the other! had an almost instant response from florist sending them out tomorrow, and then on Wednesday the florist emailed again saying all sorted and would be dispatched on Thursday ( they are in London I am not that far away in Essex) there was someone in all day Friday and so far today and still no delivery. I really want to contact Marie Claire now to get them to sort it out, as its not almost 2 months since I have received anything, but I am at a loss to find an email that I Have not tried and/or a phone number specific to competition complaints. Thank you

If you are on twitter, you could try tweeting them and asking for help.

Thanks Marg2K8 but I am not on twitter. I have found a couple of email addresses and sent out another email this morning, although one just bounced back again. Lets hope that I get some responce from them this time.

I would email them back and say that in view of all the problems you feel that you have no choice but to complain to the IMP. And if that doesn't work, actually complain to the IMP.

From the comping guide - "The Institute of Promotional Marketing complaints@theipm.org.uk lay down the guidelines which comp organisors must follow. MSE Compers have reported that they are very good at investigating dodgy comps & missing prizes."

Are you on facebook, if so you could message them on there. Its something I have done for magazine prizes in the past(not Marie Claire) and I've always gotten a response.

Have you still got the original wem, if so was there a PR agency involved and have you contacted them?

Thanks for you replies - I have sent copies of the emails to the email address the original email came from, the pr company, the florist and now 2 Marie Claire emails.

If I recieve no responce to this I will certainly post of facebook and threaten with the IPM, this is the first time that I have had any problems with a prize, it really takes the edge of it.

Thought I would update you - I recieved a reply from the company promoting the competition last Monday, just telling me they would look into it. Heard no more so emailed the florist again (quite an abrupt email) she came straight back to me telling me that she would look into it, and later that afternoon emailed me telling me she had personally put flowers/chocolates in the post and to let her know when they were delived. They arrived whilst I was at work yesterday, DH left them in the box, I am so glad he did as I had a really c**p day with work issues.

When I got home it cheered me up seeing the box - not for long though. I opened them up and found dusky pink lillies, roses and thistles galore, no chocolates, then noticed an envelope - my first thought was a card apologising this is what the card read when I opened it ' Our thoughts are with you, With all our love Suzy, steve and evverybody at Ever After' it was quite clearly a with sympathy arrangement and I have no idea who Ever after are. I checked the delivery name and address it was correct.

I emailed the florist who said that she personally wrote the card out apologising for the mix up and hope this made up for it, but it would appear that someone somewhere who has lost a loved one recieved a bouquet and chocolate and an inapropriate card - she finished by saying enjoy the flowers I will send some more next week :(:(:( I really don't know whether to laugh or cry! I really don't hold out much hope for my other 9 deliveries that would make up a years worth!

:eek:That is the most incredible tale of incompetence as I've heard in a while. You poor thing - all you wanted was your prize for heaven's sake! I'm not experienced enough at all this to advise what to do next - but do something you surely must. This is ridiculous behaviour! It's so bad I might be tempted to go to the papers with it - that 'sympathy' package is just the icing on top of a very bad cake!

Terrible thing to happen but just put it down to experience and move on or it could niggle away for a long time. As for going to the papers HAHAHAHA !
