Jobseekers allowance..

Im not claiming it but can somebody tell me what the current qualifications are for receiving it ?

This guy who is a neighbor, approached me and asked if i could help him with his job applications.

In other words he wanted me to do the donkey work on my laptop-job searches and sending CV's to prospective employers-said he doesn't have any computing skills ( how hard can it be, firing off the same CV to a 1000 or so employers ? )

He's been assessed and deemed fit for work but dont wanna do it-just going through the motions.

Am i right in saying the jobcentre people will have assisted him-writing up his resume- and helping him set up his own email account in the library to get any job offers/interviews ?

Is a jobseeker claiming the allowance, allowed to apply for jobs thru a third party, or is he/she obliged to do it for themselves on their own account ?

There isn't really a rule against 3rd party helping. The claimant has to be ready for work and actively seeking work. Sitting watching TV whilst a 3rd party actively seeks work on their behalf would fail.

He needs to speak to the JC. IT literacy is ever sooner becoming a necessity. The JC should have courses that can get him up and running, if not most central libraries will run courses.
