Good evening elite. I hope you all had a good day. cjj I hope your mood lifts very soon. I hope keeping yourself busy is helping.

wow queen of cheap you have done an amazing job.

I had a wonderful shop tonight, the whoopsies went early in Mr T I think due to the football. I have got all my fruit and most of the veg for the week and some meat in the 3 4 10 reduced to 60p. I love shops like this.

I am sending my sympathies to the England football supporters.

:rotfl::rotfl:Thanks. I'm not an England supporter, I'm now an Italy supporter for their next two games!!:D:j Come on Italy! And England in the versus Costa Rica (no 10% refund for being fewer goals than the rival:rotfl:).

Although - I'm not really a football supporter but I "do" the World Cup! Must say there is an element of Schadenfreude in me (or more than an element:eek:) - I do :eek:enjoy it sometimes watching the disappointment (for I assume it is that;)), or may be agony, on the faces of players when they're knocked out. I guess it's all part of my watching role. The controversy, the sleaze:eek:. The news focusing on the bad news as that's more newsworthy as a talking point!

They (England team) are not going for the straightforward route out of the group are they? I like it when it's a bit more complicated though, to be just about it, I feel for any true supporter who will be gutted and heart-wrenched, sick to the pit of the stomach about it.

As usual, they are just not good enough IMO. They always throw it away. I felt Wayne Rooney should have been kept out entirely - I felt he was totally left-footed in the first game, missing virtually everything kicked his way, old and past it IMO; despite the one goal this time I think nowhere near to good enough and exactly the same disappointment as in SA four years ago. (Saying that - I'm missing the vuvuzelas are you?:rotfl: ) I wouldn't be surprised at all if they fail to get out of the group, first time since 1958 if that happens and, at that point, it will just demonstrate how poor they are IMO.

Of course :rotfl::rotfl: I've absolutely no clue and am completely digging out of my own depth as I've no idea how the players perform or otherwise outside of World Cup as I've almost no interest in football matches beyond World Cup. Sterling is much better though and I like his very deft, nimble and neat way of playing - really good player and needs to be kept up throughout match.

Really the World Cup, i.e. the Cup itself - it's just been taking a 48 year holiday, away from its rightful permanent home here in England:rotfl::rotfl::D.

Actually :eek:I think Costa Rica are doing fairly well and might even go onto the next stage!!

Yes I think it's all those thick winter coats, deicers, snow scrapers and gloves that we need to get at this time of the year!! As it suggests elsewhere on this website, buying in season is absolutely the worst possible time to buy. People are buying them more so the stores or whoever can ramp up the prices. Be totally unseasonal:money: and complete opposite to the way people generally shop. This minority way of shopping and ploughing our own furrow is a very very good place to be IMO!

    I'm with you Savvy, C'mon Italia :T

You are right of course, England are just not convincing enough - a team that scrapes through the 1st round (if they're lucky) is likely to get a thrapping later on. But it is what it is and there is a sliver of hope :):T
