deposit proof from sale of goods

Afternoon all

I have recently had an AIP from halifax and this afternoon had an offer accepted on our first property. The source of the deposit has come from savings (40%) and I have just sold my Trackday kitcar for the rest. The money for this sale cleared in my account this week allowing me to proceed with the offer.

I have spoken with my MA and solicitor who have asked for the usual payslips and bank statements and also proof of deposit and source. The only document i have regarding the sale of the car is a typed receipt with my and the buyers name, address and contact details. As it was not road registered there is no DVLA paperwork. The car was paid for by cheque so i imagine is far more traceable than a wad of cash.

Will this receipt suffice to prove the deposit? Will the halifax get in touch with the buyer? Should i contact the buyer to prewarn of possible contact incase he thinks its a scam?

Cheers
Steve
