When looking most seem to be roof racks or secure to a tow bar or ones I can't fathom how on earth they'll go on my car.

Suggestions of cheapppp car bike racks appreciated? For a saloon focus to hold up to 2 bikes

I think you need a new keyboard as well as a bike rack. :D

I have a Golf hatchback and bought a second hand Hollywood F10 bike rack on eBay for £20.

The rack sits on the bumper and has padded supports that brace against the rear screen and adjustable straps that hook onto the top of the hatch and the wheel arches or lower hatch to keep it secure.

It is easy to fit and remove. 5 minutes once you are used to it.

It can carry up to 3 bikes and a maximum of 45kgs weight.

There are many similar racks available designed for saloon cars. Try eBay, Gumtree etc.

I got a Thule one that goes on my tow bar, it holds 3 bikes although to be fair 2 adult and a childs bike is probably all you would want to put on it. It was about 100 quid but is low so easy to get things on to and very secure. Its the cheapest one they do, there are nicer ones that have handles to unlock the mechanism but they are much more expensive.

You do need to check that the nose weight of your car can take it though.

I would never use a roof one having now had a tow bar mounted one.
