Mortgage & Survey

Hello
We are in the process of selling our house and buying a new one.
When you apply for a mortgage, if they were going to turn you down would they still do a survey on the new property? its probably a stupid question but its been 13 year since we moved house and haven't a clue.
Our mortgage application is with the underwriters and a valuation has to be arranged on the house we want to buy.
Thank You

Depends on the lender. People complain about the speed of processing before they receive an offer. The valuation is an integral part of the underwriting process. So potentially chicken and egg. Though if something was seriously amiss then unlikely that a valuation would be booked even.0
