Advice On Loan Please
Hi All
I had a loan back in 1999 with Egg Finance and didn't not pay the loan off, reason I was in the army back and forth Bosnia, Kosovo, Northern Ireland over the period off time and as a young soldier paying the loan was the last thing on my mind at this busy time in my Army lifestyle to be honest.
Over the last 2-3 years I've had a many of letters of Lowell finance and Red castle Debt collections and just ignored the letters, today I've received a letter from Rossendales who has now taken over the collection stating that 14 days too pay etc.
My question is I already pay Rossendales a £20 a month for an overpayment from last year and am wondering now how this loan from 1999 which was last acknowledged in 2002 come back and haunt me ???
Your help & advice is highly appreciated in advance.
Kind regards Howie

If you last paid anything towards this particular debt in 2002 and if as far as you know the creditor/debt collectors have never taken court action and obtained a CCJ then I would write back to rossendales using a statute barred template letter.
Hopefully they will agree it is statute barred, but if they want to claim it in not then they will need to provide proof as to why not. And if that do that then come back for advice as to what they have said.
