    Hi
Have you thought about doing a second job? I did this to pay off a Wonga I was doing about 15 hrs a week and making £500 per month with tips waitressing.

It wouldn't be a permanent thing you could do it for as long as you needed.

  • hi there... sounds like things are moving forward for you. I just wanted to address the credit check side of things for new jobs. I have worked in finance for nearly ten years. Depending on which finance company you work for, they will do a credit check. Now I went through various vigourous ones and if you have any money owed in arrears you will fail. So if at all please try not to go into default.

Thank you guys for your advice. But I am still not sure. Really worried to be honest. I checked my employment contract last night and it states that " The employment may be terminated without any notice if you are declared bankrupt or make any arrangement with or for the benefit of your creditors or have a county court administration order made against you under the CCA 1984."
What does this mean? I am really scared now. I work in a financial company and had a good credit history when I started this job. If I get into DMP would I lose my job or would I lose it anyway if the debt keep getting piled on???

    Hi badatmaths

The contract wording above appears to refer to any of those debt solutions which are recorded on official registers. For example, live bankruptcies and Individual Voluntary Arrangements appear on the Insolvency Service register.

There is no equivalent public register of DMPs, as they are informal agreements, whether handled by someone on your behalf or set by you personally.

Let's also remember that "working in finance" can mean a huge variety of roles - for some of these, a perfect credit file will be much less relevant than for others.

Best of luck with this and your continuing job hunt.

  • Thank you to each one of you. You guys are all life savers.:j I found the financial statement on the CAB Cornwall website. I will go to my local library tomorrow and get that one printed and posted.

I rang Capital one and they agreed on £10 a month instead of £8. They couldn't make it final as the other department that authorises it had closed by that time. I will ring Wonga tomorrow. Really didn't wanted to speak to them over the phone but they have not been replying to my emails.

I have applied for a couple of vacancies yesterday. The pay is really good. Lets see, fingers crossed. I am looking for anything - a second part time job or a brand new job with a high salary.

    Anyway its Friday people:dance:
