csa

hi..i am pwc to two girls, there dad has left a well paid job and informed csa that he is not working.so assessed at nil
my daughter has told me that her grandad has told her that her dad is working self employed as a courier.so i called csa to tell them this and also gave them details of the company that i believe he is getting his work from.
csa called him and he told them he was not working and they have took his word for it.he is most definately lieing.
my question is are the csa supposed to contact the company that i gave them that i believe he is getting his work from because they told me that they could not do this.i find this really hard to believe as he is obviously not going to admit to them that he is working if he deliberately left a good job so he does not have to pay maintenence.
thanks in advance for any replies

The short answer is no. Your info has no substance to it. You've got the info fourth hand, via your daughter, and have taken a(n educated?) guess about where he might be working. They will class this as hearsay. .

They have to have a substantive reason to justify requesting info from third parties, like employers, under the Child Support Act. They can't just ask any company in the hope it's the right one. They could be on sticky ground with the Information Commissioner if they did. "I believe" is not a substantive reason. Unless you can come up with something more robust, they won't take the enquiry further.
I often use a tablet to post, so sometimes my posts will have random letters inserted, or entirely the wrong word if autocorrect is trying to wind me up. Hopefully you'll still know what I mean.
