The bit about your daughter might swing it your way. As for mortgages, you may need a larger deposit than normal and pay a couple of points over the base rate for a couple of years, but I got one and I've only been discharged for 3 months
 Hi
Just wondering if you could share some advice on how you got a mortgage? Did you use a broker or a bank?
 Thanks:D0

            Hi Matthew,
Good to have you here! Just a quick question about my bankruptcy (if you might be able to help?) Does it get wiped off my credit record 6 years from my date of bankrupcty or 6 years from my discharge date? Help from anyone else appreciated too!?
 thanks x0

It's six years from the date of your BR order.
You will also need to make sure that any defaults on accounts included in the BR are marked on your CRF's no later than the date of your BR so that they drop off at the same time. They should also be marked in some way to indicate that the are settled/satisfied or partially settled/satisfied no later than your discharge date.
