pre 1997 student loan
Hi
I had my student loan pre 1997 and I am now 50 which would normally mean it would be wiped. Three or four years ago I applied for a deferrement and they kept saying I couldn't possibly be living on my wages and asking for more information, eventually they accepted all my payslips and deferred the loan. The following year I earned less and had a melt down when it came time to defer and I took bad advice and wrote no contract on my letters and returned them. The result is that I now have part of my loan in arrears.
Is there anything I can do to wipe the rest of the debt that isn't in arrears?
