FTB Newbie Advice Plea!

Hi.

I’m sorry to clog your boards with the desperate cries of another newbie. I’m just after some good advice and after reading this forum I believe I’m in the right place. I’m sure this mirrors the thoughts of many people out there.

My girlfriend and I are hoping to buy our first home this year. We don’t have high salaries (£30k combined) and are feeling the pressure of the current high house prices and interest rates.

We’re terrified to commit to a mortgage which will strain our income and having read on here that prices must come down soon we don’t want to get stung.

I know there’s never a right time to be a first time buyer but is this as good a time as any?

Cheers guys.
