Personal Insurances for mortgage

I recently went to my bank to speak to a mortgage adviser. Whilst there he told me that to boost my chances of getting accepted was to take out personal insurance to cover me if i was off work sick.
Was he right or was he just trying to sell me products?

Wrong! completely wrong and lying!
He should not be saying that and would probably be sacked if the ank found out he was saying that.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it. Really?! WOW! He was adamant that I went on to money supermarket and found the best deal as if i had this cover I would seem like less of a risk to a lender when it came to applying. Really worrying when you hear that they are blatantly lying to your face when these are the people who will be deciding if I can buy my first house or not.0

Haha...
The bank "sales person" is not making the decision.
They are technically classed as advisors but there is a massive difference between them and a proper advisor.
A real advisor does research, a banks advisor tells you about a couple of different products.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it.
