I don't mean to be blunt, but how are you going to start a business if you don't have a target market? What do you plan on selling, how do you plan on selling to?

You can't just wake up one day expecting to make a business out of "selling online." Needs a bit more research and thought.

The reason ebay charges 20% is because it gives you access to customers which warrant them taking 20%. Only amazon can compete and they take more like 35%.

  • None that would grant you a decent income; eBay and Amazon are usually the de rigeur choices to make money online. You can't avoid them.

If you want my opinion, don't do it. Online markets are saturated in just about any category and you would end up spending a lot of money just to keep running - not to make a living.

Look at businesses that involve food; it's a sustanance we cannot avoid and should you start a small food outlet with great tasting niche fast food you will be making money hand over fist.

Too many people look at the internet and an easy money source due to the perceived fact of being able to just "sit down" and wait for the money to come it.

Businesses that will make good money without complex rules will be, and always remain, bricks and mortar establishments. Please don't be lazy and try to avoid this.

I was thinking of doing it part time for some extra cash as i have a full time job.

But yes a fast food market sounds very good.

    Thank you

So you've gone from wanting to open an eBay business to a fast food market/stall in the space of a week, and based on one persons post on here?

I really, really think you need to put a bit more thought in to this.

You really need to sit and work out a business plan. Also you may have to pay tax on income too.
