Serving an N1 claim form outside the UK?

Hi all

Can someone offer me advice (apologies if this is on the wrong section).

I wish to issue an N1 claim form on an old client who lived in the UK while work was done for him, but has since moved to New Zealand.

We have his current NZ address.

The claim is for £2,000 so will only be a small claim through county court.

What procedures should I follow? Or is it as if I'm issuing within the UK? Also can you issue via email personally?

Thank you.

You should provide the address including postcode for yourself and the defendant or its equivalent in any European Economic Area (EEA) state (if applicable).
If an address does not have a postcode you will need to ask the judge for permission to serve the claim with this information missing. There is no additional fee for this, but the court will not allow your claim to be served without the postcode, unless you have permission from the judge.

You submit your application to the court & the court issues the summons, usually by post. The court never issues it by email.
