I really want to know if a base plus 1.49% tracker was around before the crash

    Ours was a +2%.

Base rate + not very much (like +0.17) was available before the financial crisis.

They also had base - (minus) didn't they?

    Hmm it's very confusing.

I've had it confirmed that my wife can prove income from employer whilst on mat leave and we can easily afford child care etc. lenders are accepting this approach.

I'm now leaning to waiting one more year and not paying the ERP.

There was never minus base rate life time tracker, may be a discount for a year or 2 at most.

Looks like I should cross my fingers for a low low base + then down the line
I think 2008 was the last low one. HSBC did a base + 0.99%

Yeah, they did have them. Mine is BoE +0.17% with the Woolwich.
