£45 in bank charges!!!!

Hi all
Jus looked at my account and realised my bank have charged me £45 in charges for last month. I did have a few dd that bounced due to my financial difficulties recently.
Now my issues are, i have money going into my account for my rent to be paid, but these charges have put me in minus figures (no overdraft). Which will result in me not having enough to pay my rent.
Do i have a good enough argument to ask them to remove them?

If you are in financial hardship, then yes, your bank has a duty of care, you can ask them to refund, but you may have to explain your financial situation to them, they are not automatically duty bound to refund you.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. Bank charges are in my view nothing more than a form of legalised theft, but unfortunately the banks were very quick to close loopholes allowing customers to try and reclaim the charges.
Your best bet now is to claim financial hardship and tell them that the amount taken from fees will mean you don't have enough to pay essential bills for the next month. Depending on who the bank actually are, they may or may not be inclined to refund those charges.0 -
Which bank is it?0

If you are sailing that close to the wind with your account, you need to be checking it on a daily basis not on a monthly basis.....
Ask them nicely first.....make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
