Talk about having a company that is trying to mimic a larger corporate. I wonder if Aviva have got him on their radar.

How many consumers are going to mix up AVIVA with AVIYA?

i see the offending post here has now been removed. I quoted bits of his post in my earlier response. However, for the benefit of search engines, I think it is important for consumers to know that Pension Shield posted on this site pretending to be a happy consumer giving a false recommendation. Not only that, the information they posted showed that the correct regulatory process was not followed and a bunch of lies were told. Hopefully, people looking up this company on search engines will find this thread and information and avoid using this company.

Since the person appears to have committed a crime in promoting the business by pretending to be a consumer only a fool would do business with the firm. Nobody should buy financial services from him, Pension Shield or any other people who have demonstrated a propensity to commit crimes.

The crime was breach of the Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations 2008, part 18 "A trader who pretends to be a consumer or claims or creates the impression that they are not in fact a trader. For example, a car salesman pretending to be a customer and talking-up a car of offer in front of real customers". The offence is punishable by a fine of up to £5,000 in the magistrates court or a prison sentence of up to two years, or both.

The relevant Trading Standards department is Blackburn and they have a contact form that can be used for reports. For example, you might consider making a report like this one:

This is a report that a merchant from Blackburn breached the Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations 2008 by pretending to be a consumer in a web forum at the Moneysaving Expert web site in the topic http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.php?p=68884618 . The offending post has been removed by spam controls but is available on request from the Moneysaving Expert team. The business promoted was Pension Shield at http://pensionshield.co.uk/ and the individual apparently making the misleading promotion was its founder, Shwebb Mahmood, whose details are available at https://uk.linkedin.com/pub/shwebb-mahmood/4b/b37/b0a .

Please prevent this trader from misleading consumers in the future.
