M&S sale start confusion

Hi all
My first post after lurking forever. Am posting because the M&S sale posts are driving me made and I have to pass on what I know.
The sale will start on Thursday 19th July. M&S always start their sales on a Thursday unless there is an opperational reason to change. This year there are no such reasons and it's very rare.
The sale will be bigger than expected since the unseasonal weather has left them with more stock than anticipated. Anyone who was listening to the radio this morning may have heard M&S anounce a slow down in growth this quarter. Again due to waether and therefore stock issues. Another clue this will be a good sale.
A tip for online shoppers. Go through Quidco and fill your basket a few days before the sale but dont check out. When you log on at ten past midnight on Thursday morning, anything thats in the sale will have changed in price. You should see a message saying something along the lines of 'the price of this item has changed since you added it to your basket' (although this doesn't always happen on the new website.)
Sometimes items that are going reduced are decided quite literally the day before and added to the sheets for staff to work from on the shop floor.(this can happen when the live stock pots are looked at again. If the sun comes out this week (hope) then some items may be pulled from the sale) So if you ask the staff instore what is going in the sale then they really dont know untill the last minute.
hope this helps.
