IDEM ignoring me

Hi Guys and Gals
Can anyone advise please
I had a credit card with MBNA which was sent over to IDEM. I continued to make the agreed repayment that I had with MBNA, however IDEM kept sending letters saying I was in arrears, and wanted a bigger payment. I told them the plan I had with MBNA was the most I could afford.
2 weeks ago I received a letter stating the account was defaulted and being handed over to a debt collecting agency.
I read a little bit on here in regards to IDEM and threats. I wrote the standard letter explaining that they themselves are a debt collecting agency and I take a dim view on threats of court action. I also asked for a copy of my credit agreement with in 10 working days. I said that until this was sent I would reduce payments to £1.00 a week..However I never did this but continued to make agreed payment.
I have not heard anything since, nor did they send me the monthly statement which they do normally.
Can anyone tell me where I stand and what I should do next
Thank you

I tend to view these tactics as similar to a 3 year old wanting another bag of sweets. They've had regular payments, they're getting all you can give and no amount of shouting, screaming and foot stamping is going to get more.
I'd be wary of making a threat and not following through, that just stoops to their level. If you are still paying the total is reducing (and you are getting nearer to being rid of them). At the end of the day if there's nothing more available they can't have more. As long as you are paying any judge is going to laugh them out of court if they take legal action and they know this.
How much is the debt and what are you repaying? That'll give us a better idea of how to advise you.

Sounds like they're just trying their luck to me although others may correct me. As long as you keep on track with paying I'd just repeat that you are paying what you can afford. Yes it's's going to take time to pay off but realistically with solicitors charging £100+ per hour they aren't going to instruct anyone while you are paying regularly to collect this.
They'll be much more interested in those owing tens of thousands who aren't paying anything. I don't mean to sound at all dismissive to you, you are doing the right thing by paying this and well done for almost clearing the other one.
Just one thing to bear in mind, the method of payment. Years ago I was paying a DCA via direct debit, as they request the payment they can increase it, wish I'd been more clued up back then and paid by standing order or cheque and retained more control.

An alternative view....
It's often forgotten that an arrangement to pay is made at the discretion of the lender, they are always able to enforce the contract and start legal action if the full payment isn't being made and there are arrears. Especially if they feel they are not being cooperated with.
Most lenders would want to review the arrangement every 3-6 months and any sensible one would want to see a SOA so that the borrower could confirm the payment they are making is reasonable under the circumstances. Nobody has to do that but equally the lender doesn't have to agree to the arrangement either so you make your own choice on what route you go down.
We quite often see on here statements like ' I told them the plan I had with MBNA was the most I could afford'. But how does the lender know ?0
