Sick, sick people

Do NOT, I repeat NOT go anywhere near any online company.

I've had nothing but pure rage and frustration plus extra cost at my expense from even going near what I've been told is an 'application' by 'Money Warehouse' (it doesn't seem to matter who it is - they're all the same and owned by a handful of deceitful, moneygrabbing sick individuals. I've been on hold twice on the phone for 40 minutes each time only to get through to the last call - and they hang up!! TWICE!!

Countless emails have been sent as they took £48.27 out of my account immediately and my mobile phone is getting HAMMERED with dodgy calls and texts from all kinds of rogue lenders and I will have to change my number. I've been onto the bank 3-4 times eventually getting them to set up a 'Visa Dispute' case.
There is a link on this forum somewhere.

The day after I realised my stupid mistake (Guys - PLEASE read through all of the small print in detail before clicking any 'NEXT' or 'APPLY' buttons....it's so easily done when you're in a stressful state - you don't think rationally and take your time to be sensible...) I had to change bank accounts because 2 other sick, sick people (Loans Marketing & Castle Finance) were trying to take a combined £150.00 out!!!! I only wanted a loan of £100! This all cost me money in phone bills and time spent stressing out.

I have been on hold to them twice for a combined 120 minutes, only to get through to the last call and they hang up!! The day after I was Money Warehouse had nicked my money I wrote to them (as per their Terms & Conditions) only to be told I'd have to wait 14 working days to get my refund. 6 weeks has passed and still no money. I am at my wits end. I have run up phone bills I can't afford to pay (one of the reasons I wanted a small loan in the first place) and have spent hours messing about with emails to various different addresses. By the looks of other posts on here it looks like it could be months of further hassling and haranguing the bank and other avenues to try and get my money back.

THESE PEOPLE ARE SICK. They prey on the vulnerable people, in a time of austerity with easy access to the internet and a bombardment of ads splattered all over the TV and targeted ads running on every website to then sneakily charge them hefty fees for so called 'Broker Fees' and place people in further stress and financial difficulty. I would have used Wonga (as I have just once or 2 in the past) only for them to take the £1 I had placed in my account to set up a new card out and then tell me (after several wasted calls and emails) to be told they couldn't register my new card. Something to do with the address. I just can't believe it! I am no further to getting my short-term loan of £100 and would have 'recommended' Wonga for very small, short-term loans as there are no hidden charges and they are easy to use but I am staying well away from ALL of them now. Even Payday UK managed to lock my account and ask for a scanned passport or drivers license (I don't have a scanner). Forget them too....

Screw the loan and my bills will have to wait.

The SOONER the FSA starts to bring in some tough sanctions and basically makes these companies illegal the better. They represent everything that is sick and exploitative in the modern world.

FOR INFO. Always 'Say no to 0845' and get an 0800 number if available. Just Google 'say no to 0870.

Loans Marketing and Castle Finance were much better in responding swiftly and cancelling the monies they were trying to take out. Money Warehouse have been SHOCKING.

NEVER click on 'NEXT' 'AGREE' 'APPLY' etc etc until you are absolutely sure you won't be charged.

Be prepared to have your privacy invaded with calls and texts left right and centre and have all your so called applications sent off to the 3 main credit rating companies (Experian, Equifax and Call Credit I think...)

Target the actual loan brokers themselves and be persistent with the banks. I'm with Nationwide who have an excellent customer service, not sure about others, avoid Barclays if possible - always a frustrating experience....

Basically avoid these companies at all costs. If no-one used them, there users would dissapear, they wouldn't be able to afford office, wages for staff and online applications and lets go back to good old fashioned Banks where you knew your Bank Manager (not some pretty girl with a badge round her neck) and boot all of this crap out for good. LESSON LEARNED HERE.

P.S There is lots of useful information on this excellent website. Do your research!

If you've read the small print then it tells you how to cancel your membership and get a refund. It requires you to write to them....not phone.

If you've entered your card details willingly into the website then this isn't fraud. You will have set up a Continuous Payment Authority on the card so that they can continue to take money from your account. Contact your bank and get them to cancel the CPA.

They won't disappear as long as there are people gullible enough to hand over their bank details willy-nilly and not read what they're signing up for.

He's right in the fact that people panic...

But as mentioned many a times on this site, don't provide your bank details then they can't take your money and always read the T&C's (or at least do ctrl+f and search for things like the word 'fee', 'charge' and the '£' sign).

I'm not sure if the guy wants help in what to do or if he's found the instructions to claim a refund and is just having a rant? Wonder what he'd do the next time he needs money though if all PDL's and brokers *spit* were outlawed?

It makes no sense to me at all. If you've got to the stage where you've a blown credit file, you spend all of your wages, and more, just getting through the month, and your own bank won't touch you, then why would anyone think that a random company on the internet, who don't know you from Adam, is going to lend you money?

No-one lends to people in this situation, as they know that they will net be repaid. What are people imagining comes next, if a loan really was given? They've not managed to live on their income so far, so how exactly are they planning to not only live off their income but also to make loan repayments?

It's people like the OP who show why wealth redistribution can never work. Give them £50,000 from higher earners, and they'll blow the lot, straight away, then still rush out to take a loan for more. OP, what were you thinking? Where has your money gone, how did you plan to make your repayments?

Stop trying to borrow money. It is not an answer to what you've done.

    Very well put Bill.
Op it's a pity that you didn't come on here earlier. Then you would know what the rest of us know. Before putting your details on line.

Not one of those companies have tried to take money from me... Because I have not given them my details.

It seems you are happy to hand your details out to anyone who will ask, considering the number of complaints about different companies you have got. Your money is obviously important, so do your research before you give every tom !!!!!! and Harry the relevant information to dip in to your funds. They just make a living out of ignorant people. If the public paid more attention to what they were doing, these people wouldn't be as successful as they are!!

I'll likely be excoriated for it, by the usual suspects, who think that the right answer is always to pat the borrower on the head, and to criticize the evil companies who take their money, but to me, going online and typing in your card details, when you can't even make your wages stretch through the month, well, it's as foolish as if I were to park my car, roof down in New Cross tonight, and wander off to take the air. Yes, those who'd prey on me would be bad people, and would be to blame for taking what was mine, but would no-one take me aside afterwards, and say "Bill, what were you thinking, what were you doing?"

It'd be a great world if there were not sharks cruising it, looking to take what is ours, but that is not this world, not the one that we inhabit. Offer people your money, and they will take it.

LOL, one of those would (to a degree) be me as I'd rather see posts helping instead of criticising... Blah blah blah...

But in this instance when the op goes on at length that nobody is cooperating and he's being ripped off without any reference to having a debt problem or problems being of his own making then fair game.
