Hey,anyone know of anywhere in Belfast that supplies loans. Need roughly £700-1000 and my credit is poor as expected!
Cheers.

    A credit union

Your own bank and ask about an overdraft

So the money you would use for repayments where has it gone ?

What do your credit files show that means your 'credit is poor'?

How quickly do you need to borrow and how much can you afford to repay a month?

As DCFC suggests a credit union may be a possibility, though some credit unions do require you to be a member and start saving with them first before they will allow you to take out a loan.

What is the purpose of the loan? as people may be able to suggest alternatives if you are unable to find a commercial loan.

It's for personal debt to a family member who's now in need of it urgently and I don't really have anywhere to turn for that amount. My local credit union require you to be with them for a minimum of 3 months,my bank already rejected my overdraft request and I've been rejected by numerous online loan companies unfortunately, therefore I'm pretty sure my credit rating is very low.
I work full time so think I could afford to pay back anything upto 150 per month,if I were given the chance.
Not getting hopes up though because of so many rejections.

Have you got anything you could sell to raise the money?

Does your family member need the full loan amount to be repaid straight away or would a partical payment suffice for now?

You should talk to your family member and explain that you are not in a position to give them the full loan amount back yet. The longer you leave it the worse it will be. By telling them sooner that gives them more time to work out an alternative way of paying for whatever it is they have to pay for. Leaving it to the last gasp is a double kick in the balls.

Yeah they need the money ASAP and I've already thought of seeking but nothing of any value really tbh. I've already told them I do r have it but they've asked me to do all I can because they're in a pretty serious situation and my payment would only be part of it.
It seems nobody knows of anywhere I would have a chance of raising it then? Thanks for the replies though!

If you have already been declined by multiple places then you probably won't find a commercial loan.
Any chance of your employer being prepared to offer you a loan/wage advance to be repaid over a few months?

Have you actually checked your credit file to see what is on there?

There may be an error that is stopping you from getting a loan....or do you have CCJs, defaults and other unpaid debt already that you know about?

  • These guys can often do loans if you've been turned down before, APR will be north of 70% though so depends on your circumstances :O

Cheers but tried with them before so no joy :-( I do have unpaid debt from a few years ago so know i've basically no chance, just wanted to see if anyone on here had any different ideas to places i've already tried and i'd much rather do this than have my friends/family know what situation i'm in.
    Thanks anyway

Why do you feel obliged to repay a family member money when you don't repay anyone else you have borrowed from?

Tell him to take a hike, or tell him to come on here and we can tell him all about the foolishness of lending to family.
