I'm not sure what you mean by a life on the road, but there would be no reason for anyone to do a credit check on you if you are selling your home assuming there are no charges on the property.
Presumably the balance of any money will be paid into a bank account with a bank that you owe no money to.0 -
Are you saying you are thinking of not keeping up with your payment plan?
If so I would seriously think hard things have a habit of bitting us on the bum in years to come. Life is so unpredictable, in another year you may be sick of the life on the road, relationships end, there are both good fortunes and bad fortunes in life and I personally would not be put at ease knowing that someone could make a connection and the debts could be there again but bigger with the added fees on etc
Is there no way you can keep up payments on the road or level with your partner pay them off from the house sale and have that idyllic life on the road with no chance of a past catching up?0 -
Hi no I,m not doing a runner, still making payments just trying to live mortgage free thanks.0

Sorry your post made it sound like you were not planning on paying them!
Estate agents only do credit checks when you apply for rental purposes, solicitors are not concerned unless there are charges on your house. Banks are supposed not to transfer details but I have had friends who reckon that banks have exchanged information with the "family of companies" not happened to me personally.
What exactly are you worried about, is it just if they happen to drop into conversation with your partner that you have debts?0 -
Hi yes, because I am dealing with it ok, and marriage would be over if he knew the amount, I was just worried it might leak out during the house sale, although no borrowing is required, just panicking I guess. Thanks for all your comments and help.0

I don't see why it should come up at all, as long as there are no charges on the property. I am more concerned about how the secrecy will affect your marriage in the long term. It must be very stressful for you! Are you going to have a mailing address or something to deal with correspondence? Doesn't your OH wonder where some of your wages disappear to?0

Hi what do you mean by charges on the property I don't understand, please advise thanks. I am stressed and I'm gonna do it my way luckily I have a P O Box .0

You would only have a charge over your property (like you have with a mortgage) if it was secured borrowing - if it's unsecured (personal loans/credit cards/overdrafts) there should be no reason for anyone to find out."I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250
