moving to a new deal

hi everyone

is it correct that if we simply want to switch to a new product with the same lender without changing anything then this doesn't involve a full application n credit checks

is that right? if it makes any difference its an Alliance n Leicester mortgage which would be changing to a santander product

many thanks!

A&L and Santander are different companies within the same group. So not the same lender. Santander don't have to offer you a product.

Historically the mortgage books were run differently. A&L having a higher risk profile. So Santander do appear to have been selective in what they offer on transfer, in fact a wide spectrum. In addition to which Santander have had a policy of Small Business Lending for some time while at the same time reducing overall mortgage lending exposure.
