Motor mile finance and supposed debt

Hi all

I got this email this morning at 1.15am from the above company. Now I did have a pounds till payday loan but this was years back and I mean at least 4 if not longer, I have had no letter from these people saying I owe the £80, as far as I can remember the loan was paid back in full but as said as it was so many years a go I have no paper work to prove it?
Just wondering what my next step is as I don't really want to get on the bad credit files and don't want them visiting me at home, yes I could pay the £80 but as I said I don't believe I owe it but cant prove it. As it was so many years back I can't believe if this is the case why it's took so many years for them to contact me?

You could try that at first, but if they continue to hassle may be worth back up by sending recorded post.

I can tell you now Motor mile are persistent little bu**ers, don't expect any reply from them OP, the only letters they respond to are letters headed "COMPLAINT" and even then only if your lucky, they prefer to intimidate by post and phone.

Check out this link, explains a bit about how they work :

To be honest, for £80, its unlikely anyone will call, they may threaten all sorts of things, but that's all they are, threats !!!!!

  • motor mile are b*ggers! i sent them numerous prove it letters and they have never responded, they've now marked the account as a default on the credit file - so we may well have to deal with them at some point (they backdated the default correctly at least!) but no way in hell are they getting the full required amount! mwahahaha!!!

Bottom feeders of the worst degree
if you can, wait it out they will keep persisting but hopefully someone will see how terrible they are and shut them down at some point with their menacing tactics.

I took them as far as the FOS with a complaint about the amount of a debt they were claiming I owed,( had paid it, they added charges, which I would not pay) the FOS decided in there favour, apparently they only decide a case on the financial aspects, not how the DCA has behaved in attempting collection, I had numerous calls to work, saying they were "coming to take the furniture/telly etc" to work ?? my boss was not happy, they eventually went away, but the tactics they use are shocking and if you don't know your rights, you could easily fall for there threats, they will go to far eventually and get shut down, if everyone complained this would happen a lot quicker.

Good god, is that really what they send out to people!? I know this lot are nothing more than the fetid sprinklings at the bottom of the toilet bowl after a particularly boisterous Vindaloo, but I didn't think it was that vicious!
