Confused about previous CCJ

So my story is a long one that I won't force you to endure, I will skirt around and try and make it as sensical as possible.....

I received a CCJ back in 2010 for non-payment of water. I moved before I got any correspondence regarding this so actually didn't know anything about it until last year when I took out a DRO. The water company was named on the DRO and they used some of the balance on the DRO to clear the CCJ.

Now, things have improved massively (including my attitude :j ) and I took my head out of the sand and check my file regularly. The CCJ still isn't showing as satisfied and when I spoke to Northampton County Court they said they haven't been informed that the balance has been cleared so they can't update my file.

Am I being incredibly naive expecting SWW to actually inform the court? How do I go about getting the all important certificate??

I'm not sure this will make a lot of difference as the DRO stays on your file for six years anyway.

Because I need to find another place to rent and every agent has said that they need to see the CCJ is satisfied, despite the DRO having finished. And in the interest of file clean up, does a satisfied CCJ look 'better' satisfied rather than outstanding? Or am I just being silly?

If it does matter to anyone checking and the water company won't write to the court for you, then apply for a certificate of satisfaction using this rule.

A lot of court staff don't seem to know they should do this.
