Mortgage Application lost by Lender

Been lurking for a little while now, and have picked up some great tips - thanks everyone so far.....
So now heres my story..... Had AIP through on 20 May following telephone interview with YBS, we then had went into branch on Saturday (24th) to hand in the paperwork including 3 moths payslips, bank statements, ID and cheque for the valuation and application fee. Due to Bank holiday I left it a few days, but have just rang the central processing team to check they have received it. Nada.
The have confirmed that it was sent from the branch to the central processing team on Tuesday, so latest it should have arrived was yesterday. They have told me to ring back on Monday afternoon, and if they still dont have it we will have to resubmit.
Even worse, our offer was accepted on 6 May so we are already a little behind due to an unhelpful broker (we are now going direct) and to get reprinted bank statement and payslips is going to take ages if we have to resubmit......I am so annoyed - we specifically took it to branch to be sent off to avoid this happening.
Nothing I can really do about this to be honest, I just really needed to vent and have to hope that this doesn't hold up our vendor in the longer term so they decide to pull out.

Being half term week could easily be delays in processing post. So hardly worth venting over for the sake of a day or two. Particularly as it took you 4 days to hand the paperwork over yourselves. Would have been quicker to submit direct.0

I agree, but as we had to get our ID verified by them anyway, we had to go into branch so it seemed sensible to get them to send while we were there. Unfortunately OH is in the Army and getting time off in the week is not always possible! They confirmed on the phone today that they were up to date with opening post

Hopefully Monday will bear fruit, but thank you for the words of wisdom, hard to see the sensible side when you're feeling frustrated!!0 -
You think its bad now!
Wait till the underwriters get hold of the case... YBS underwriters are the most pedantic/pointless/useless bunch of "underwriters" I have come across.
Having to explain why you have spent over £xxx on a certain transaction, asking for bits of information bit by bit rather than all at the same time. Theyre the only lender I refuse to use which is saying something based on some of the service I have had in the past.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it. Oh no
we went with them cos of their rate / fees plus the possibility to overpay - they weren't the cheapest I hasten to add, but the one that seemed to offer the best deal for us at the moment - looks like we could be in for a rough ride..... 0 -
You never know, you might come on here and tell me I was wrong, yours flew through and I dont know what im talking about... some people do like YBS... I hope you do.
I have sent them 3-4 cases over 3-4 years all but 1 was fairly straight forward circumstances, none of them were simple to get to offer.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it. If I am reading this right it was sent from the bank to central processing and the bank have proof/ confirmed it was sent. Not sure how long this has now but if say 10days even royal mail could have delivered by now so I would visit bank and phone central and be asking how to make a complaint with the wording of 'you have lost our personal information, data protection, do I need to contact financial ombudsman etc good luck it turns up x0
