You have four phone contracts with Vodafone?
I doubt they will let you just walk away from any of them I'm afraid, unless you pay until the end of the contracts life.
Are you saying you don't have the actual phone handsets for these contracts? But is it YOUR name on the contracts?0 -
hi , i have my phone , but the rset are with my ex and her kids...when we were together she could not get a contract due to various reasons so all the phones are in my name...there is no way i can afford it anymore ...how do debt collection agencies work ...thankyou so much0

Have you spoken to vodaphone about the situation?
Have they suggested any alternatives - e.g. are they able to downgrade the tariffs for these phones to reduce the cost? and if so would it then be cheaper to keep paying the remainder of the contract (but with the accounts deactivated so nobody can run up large bills on them).
Did the phones come free as part of the contract? if so are you able to get the phones back and sell them to help raise the cancellation fees?
Alternatively you could consider cancelling the contract and defaulting on paying the cancellation fees and then arranging a repayment plan for the outstanding debt at a rate you can afford (this option would impact on your credit file/rating though).
All that said - is this your only debt? if you are not working and have any other outstanding debts then it may be a better idea to talk to one of the debt advice charities to talk through your options with them.A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -
