Making Invitations - looking for good (cheap!) stationery suppliers!

Hi guys.
My wedding will be on 06/06/15 and I'm just thinking about making the invitations. I've done a little crafting before and believe I could make some quite simple, but lovely looking ones. However I'm struggling to find good quality paper and card at a cheap enough price to make it worthwhile.
I need to make approximately 100 invites, made from dark (dark) green card and off-white paper (thin enough that it can be printed on.) I'll need about 150 sheets of A4 dark green card, and 400 sheets of off white paper, as I'm planning to put in a lot of extra information (reputable local taxi firms that don't rip you off, hotels, maps for the venue etc etc) That plus any extra little cute embellishments, seems to add up to more than just buying the invites online. Is making them myself actually a money-saving tactic at all, or am I looking in the wrong places for my stationery?!
Thank you for any recommendations you can give me!

Ebay is your friend! There are well priced paper and envelopes on there. I've bought loads from there, and not just for my wedding. and if you're looking for a cheap invite, think to yourself if you really need all those little embellishments.
What I did was design a "ticket" on photoshop and sent it to a professional printer to print. i cost me £66 for 150 invites including a perforation to create a ticket stub.Aiming to pay off £50,312.94 in less than 3 years - Starting from December 2015

We're making our own invites too...99% sure that we're getting postcards from an online custom print service with custom text/photos etc on.
Because I'm all for being environmentally friendly and wanted to reduce the amount of paper we have to use, we've set up a wedding site on gettingmarried.co.uk (think there's a few sites like this), where you can do all the things you mention - adding taxi firms, local hotels, lift shares and general info about the wedding etc. It's a bit like a Facebook event/group page, but got lots more bits & bobs on it.
Might be worth looking into for you, and would save the hassle of buying extra materials & printing etc! We're including our website URL in the custom texts on our invites.0 -

My mum is making our invites, but she is sourcing a lot of the stuff to make them from here: http://www.weddingcrafter.co.uk/ - they sell invite kits in various different colours as well as card/paper and embellishments so you can make your own designs.
She made my sisters' stationery as well when they got married and got loads of the bits from Hobbycraft but I think they've closed a lot of their stores now - they do have an online shop but it's not very good from what I've seen."A mind needs books as a sword needs a whetstone, if it is to keep its edge." - Tyrion LannisterMarried my best friend 1st November 2014Loose = the opposite of tight (eg "These trousers feel a little loose")Lose = the opposite of find/gain (eg "I'm going to lose weight this year")0 -

I get married that day too! You're not marrying me are you?
My mum is making all of ours, she went to a craft fayre at the weekend and got all of the materials for £25.
In terms of ideas, I am told the craft channels on sky/freeview/virgin are pretty useful.

We are making our invites, save the dates etc too.
Only made the save the dates so far as wedding is next May but ordered our stationery from pdacardandcraft. co. uk as it was the cheapest prices for the envelope folds we wanted including eBay.
Paper all seems to be good quality and STDs (that sounds bad) all came out good. Had some nice comments back so :T0 -
Hi, we used pdacardandcraft.co.uk and I thought their prices and quality were excellent, we used them for all the card for our invites, menus, order of service etc they even did tags in the same colour/card to use for our favours.0
